'the little group' as National Leaders
'the little group' became part of the Eagle House Group in September 2006 but has an established reputation of some15 years as a national leader in the field of pre school provision for children with an autistic spectrum disorders and complex communication disorders. 'We are a specialist registered nursery based in Epsom, Surrey which admits children aged 2-5+ years with difficulties in:-
- Social interaction
- Communication
- Poor imaginative play and rigid thinking
Children may also have secondary problems in areas such as poor attention, challenging behaviour and high anxiety levels.
'the little group' method
Here at 'the little group', we provide services to up to 70 children over the period of a school year. Our renowned teaching method -'the little group' Approach - is focused on engaging and motivating children through fun activities that are meaningful to them, as children with social communication difficulties are often difficult to reach through traditional methods of teaching.
At 'the little group', our children learn the skills to engage and learn in a happy and relaxed environment. We achieve this by fully integrating the disciplines of speech and language therapy and teaching into one very unique and innovative communication based curriculum. Here at 'the little group', we strongly believe that learning is not just the acquisition of discrete skills, but rather that true learning affects the way in which our children think and understand the world.
